Our story begins more than 60 years ago in Sweden, when engineer Einar Egnell was asked by a leading gynecologist to build a better breast pump. Back then, breast pumps were painful to use and didn't express milk well. Einar made it his life's work to help breastfeeding moms. After years of research and hundreds of pump trials, he achieved his breakthrough with the first truly comfortable and effective breast pump. Egnell created the standards by which today's breast pumps are judged.
Today, Ameda breast pumps combine Einar Egnell's innovative technology with 21st Century mom-friendly features and personal lactation support. Our mission - like Einar Egnell's - is to help breastfeeding mothers.
